Can anyone recommend a rust inhibitor for steel frame bikes? Saw a YouTube video where the rust inhibitor made by WD40 was pretty good. Any better ideas?

And foreign frame builders use frame saver.

Frame Saver is 9,000 yen per can on Amazon. YIKES!

Fogging Oil?
You might be able to find it in an automotive shop.
Amazon.com has it - Amazon product
I can order it and split it up if people are interested.

I’m using boeshield T-9, developed by Boeing for aircrafts. 4oz liquid squeeze bottle about 10 dollars enough to coat several frames. It can also be used as chain lubricant.

@kiwisimon Went with the Respo. Couldn't find the T-9 on Amazon. Thanks for the recommendation.

Bike arrived this evening. It is mostly together now but will wait to ride it till I coat it with rust inhibitor.

Easier to prep with no parts bolted on I think. Can you access the chain stays with the BB installed? I's also easier to hit the downtube from the BB shell as well. Spraying in the cable holes makes hitting the HT joint rather hard.

BB isn't installed yet. Trying hard not to put it together and ride it until I've got the rust inhibitor sprayed on. Should get it by Friday.

Pretty sure Ritchey must prep their tubes pretty well as they are triple butted. Still extra prep won't do any harm. What color bar tape did you go with? Yellow sounds like a good scheme and it does make you more visible on the road.

I have some black bar tape I'll use until the yellow bar tape I ordered arrives, but, yeah, I think yellow tape is gonna be the final choice.

Thanks. And, 'yes', yellow bar tape was pretty much a requirement. OTOH, a bit more of a 'mellow' yellow vs. the bright yellow would be even better.

After some rides and you first puncture repair (which hopefully won't happen too soon or best never) the yellow will look much more mellow. That's what happened to my white bar tape.
